Which Way?

Josh and I have traveled together to Lac Seul, Ontario for a little father/son (Zach was not able to join us) fishing getaway.  We left on Friday morning and will return on Tuesday.  It was more than an eight-hour drive.  We stopped about an hour and a half prior to getting to the lodge in Dryden to eat some lunch and then go to Walmart to grab a few last-minute items.

We had turned the GPS off and then turned it back on when we were ready to get into the truck.  For some reason it took us in an opposite direction, but hey, who am I to argue with Siri?  We knew we had an hour and a half to go and that’s what Siri said, so we headed out.  Shortly after leaving town, we found ourselves off of blacktop and onto gravel.  We were informed only the last mile was on gravel by friends who have been here, but instead drove the last 60 miles on a very rough and tattered gravel road.  We still made it in about an hour and a half, but it was a very rough ride.

I wouldn’t say that we made a wrong turn, because after all, we were listening to Siri, but this begs the question, ‘Is every voice correct’?  Most people would agree that the obvious answer to that question is no.  Go to a ballgame and ask folks who is going to win.  The answer would probably be split 50/50.  Half would be right and half would be wrong.  Every voice cannot always be right.  It’s impossible.

This is a reason for believers to read their Bible.  Where human reason can let you down, God’s Word is always right and will always be trustworthy.  Hold onto this promise from Solomon, “Every word of God proves true” Proverbs 30:5.  Understand this though, my fish stories next week may not have the same reliability.

I think I’m lost
